What is Reiki?
Question-What is Reiki?
Answer-First mentioned in ancient Tibetan texts, this hands-on healing technique was re-discovered in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s and he called it Reiki. As understood by Mikao Usui and etymologically, the word Reiki is derived from two Japanese characters—“rei” (pronounced RAY) which stands for unseen or spiritual and “ki” (pronounced KEE) meaning life force or energy. In English, it literally means universal or spiritually guided life force or energy.
Question-Why would I need Reiki?
Answer-Many traditional cultures believe that your life energy or energy body supports your physical body. Although everyone has life force energy in order to keep them alive, Reiki has the potential to increase the quality and quantity of that energy to a level of healing. Initially used for relaxation and stress reduction, the benefits are have been shown to be infinite. And because Reiki seems to have wisdom of itself (spiritually guided), Reiki flows were it is most needed and wanted.
